about the Foundation

Chisago Lakes Area Community Foundation (CLACF) was formed in 2008 as a community trust to help meet the needs of residents within the boundary of Independent School District #2144, a mandate benefiting the communities of Chisago City, Lindstrom, Center City, Shafer and Taylors Falls, Minnesota. CLACF was established with a $5000 donation from the Chisago Lakes Rotary, a $5000 matching grant from the St. Croix Valley Foundation and several other generous donations.

Our Goal

To build large, permanently-endowed funds that will serve the community forever

Our Purpose

To award grants, from the annual earnings, that support civic organizations, service groups, municipalities, schools and other nonprofits that serve our five Chisago Lakes communities.

Over time, CLACF has awarded more than $90,000 to 47 local organizations!

Our Structure

CLACF operates through a board of local, volunteer directors from across Chisago Lakes.

CLACF is one of ten affiliates of the St. Croix Valley Foundation, which provides support for professional fund management and helps CLACF meet all government regulations and ensure donors achieve their goals.
